Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen has pledged to ‘roll up his sleeves’ to sort out the Christmas experience The Magical Journey, which has been temporarily shut down following a string of complaints.

The festive grotto, which he designed, received hundreds of complaints from unhappy families who had paid out £22.50 a ticket for the opening day at The Belfry golf complex in Warwickshire on Saturday.

They said that the experience was “far from magical” and claim that Father Christmas was handing out “cheap plastic” toys which were not even wrapped.

Hundreds of parents posted their frustrations on social media with some even saying they had seen the elves smoking and also expressed fears over health and safety after elves were also spotted pushing a train up a hill.

The organiser of The Magical Journey Christmas experience has apologised to visitors for closing after it was, "hammered by the weather'.

Organiser Paul Dolan said that work was underway to get all the issues fixed by Wednesday.
