David Cameron is putting the final touches to his new ministerial team after a cull of senior Tories and the departure of William Hague from the Foreign Office.

The Prime Minister is expected to promote a number of rising female stars to replace the male ministers axed in a reshuffle reportedly including environment secretary and North Shropshire MP Owen Paterson - and which also saw the end of Rushcliffe MP Ken Clarke's lengthy ministerial career when he resigned yesterday.

Here are some of the high-flyers from our region who could be moving up.

Former ITV Central presenter Anna Soubry has been MP for Broxtowe since 2010.

In October 2013 last year Anna was the first female MP to be appointed as a Defence Minister.

Margot James, MP for Stourbridge could be another one of those moving up.

Elected in 2010, she is currently Parliamentary Private Secretary to Lord Livingston, Minister for Trade and Investment.

Harriett Baldwin could also be in the frame. She has represented West Worcestershire since 2010. She was appointed assistant government whip in February this year.

Nicky Morgan is another possible contender. She is the MP for Loughborough, a position she has held since 2010. In April this year she became the Financial Secretary to the Treasury and Minister for Women.

Finally could Andrea Leadsom be looking at a new job? She was elected MP for South Northamptonshire in 2010. She was made economic secretary to the Treasury in April this year.
