Police release distressing photo after elderly man attacked in his own home

Police are hunting three men after a 64-year-old man was subjected to a violent attack in his own home leaving him with severe facial injuries.

The men forced their way into the victim's home in Auckland Road in Hucknall at around 8.30pm last Tuesday (1 April 2014).

They punched the 64-year-old occupant and threw his 63-year-old wife to the ground, before fleeing empty-handed.

He was left with a suspected broken nose and cheekbone. He also sustained a fractured hand. He said:

Police have released the graphic picture of the victim's injuries, but have made it black and white because the colour version is too distressing.

Detective Inspector Rich Monk said:
