Fundraising event raises £9k in Jack's memory
A fund raising event was held last night in memory of a six year old boy who died in hospital three years ago.
Jack Adcock, of Glen Parva in Leicestershire, was suffering from sickness and vomiting and was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary in February 2011.
His illness developed into pneumonia and he later suffered a heart attack.
An inquest into Jack’s death in July heard the care he received on the day he died was ‘inadequate’.
It was later adjourned for legal reasons and his parents are still waiting to hear if it will resume.
Last night, family friends organised an event to raise money for two charities which helped Jack.
Their target was £4,000 but they managed to raise £9,000 for Wishes4Kids and The Leicestershire Down’s Syndrome Group.
