Al Madinah closes on 'Health and Safety' grounds following reports that girls were forced to sit at the back of the class and that female staff were forced to wear the veil.

School admitted it had been forced to close because of concern over the lack of safeguarding CRB checks on staff.

Guardian Newspaper website leaks a report by Ofsted saying that the school is 'dysfunctional' and should go into special measures

Chairman of the Governors of Al-Al Madinah steps down - Shazia Parveen said it was in the best interests of the children.

Trustees at the school resign after being critised by the schools Minister Lord Nash

Scathing Ofsted report into progress at the school. Ofsted school inspector Wayne Norrie criticised leadership and the inadequate quality of teaching saying "this school remains in chaos".
