Sam Bailey's choice of Clown by Emeli Sande reduced the judges to tears at the Bootcamp stage of the competition.
Judges' houses - 'I have nothing' by Whitney Houston
Next up was Judges' houses, where Sam had to sing for mentor Sharon Osbourne and Robbie Williams. This time she took on Whitney Houston classic 'I have nothing' to secure her place in the live finals.
Live Week 1 - Power of Love by Jennifer Rush
Sam kicked off the first of the live shows in big power ballad style - powering through with the Power of Love.
Live Week 2 - 'Make you feel my love' by Adele
In the second week, Sam swapped the belter to show a softer side , singing 'Make you feel my love' by Adele.
Live Week 3 - 'My heart will go on' by Celine Dion
Live final week three was movie week, and Sam took on a song from one of the biggest movies of all time, 'My Heart will go on' from Titanic.
Live Week 4 - No more tears (Enough is enough) by Barbara Streisand & Donna Summer
Week four was disco week - and Sam showed she certainly could take things up tempo - singing the Barbara Streisand and Donna Summer duet 'No more tears' all on her own.
Live Week 5 - New York, New York by Frank Sinatra
For 2013 - Big Band Week was back, and Sam stole the show singing New York, New York.
Live Week 6 - Something by The Beatles
Week six had the theme 'The Great British Songbook' - and Sam took a risk singing lesser known Beatles track - Something.
Live Week 7 - Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis
The X Factor is now in its tenth series, and to celebrate the milestone live week seven saw this year's acts take on hits by previous contestants, with Sam singing one from the most successful winner of all, Leona Lewis.
Live Week 8 - Clown by Emili Sande & 'How will I know' by Whitney Houston
With five acts left - it was now time for remaining contestants to sing twice in one show. And Sam's first choice worked for her at the Bootcamp stage - and it did the job again in live week 8.
Securing her place for another week, Whitney Houston's up beat hit How Will I Know sealed the deal for Sam.
Live Week 9 - 'Candle in the Wind' by Elton John & 'If I were a boy' by Beyonce
First up for Sam in week 9, she tackled Candle in the Wind by Elton John, written about the life of Marilyn Monroe, then later re-worked after the death of Princess Diana.
Beyonce's hit selling record 'If I were a boy' had some challenging high notes for Sam - but she smashed every one of them.
Live Week 10 - Saturday - 'The Edge of Glory' by Lady Gaga & I Am Telling You from the musical Dreamgirls
Sam Bailey kicked off her final by singing The Edge of Glory by Lady Gaga - then went on to wow Wembley Arena singing a duet of I Am Telling You from the musical Dreamgirls **with Nicole Scherzinger.
Live Week 10 - Sunday - 'The Power of Love' by Jennifer Rush & Skyscraper by Demi Lovato
Just two left in the running, and Sam started by returning to power ballad The Power of Love which had Wembley Arena in awe.
This is Sam's final performance before being crowned the winner, with the cover of Demi Lovato's Skyscraper announced as her winners song.
Until Sam Bailey was crowned the winner of X Factor 2013.
But now the race is well and truly on to see if the 36-year-old former prison officer from Leicester will become this year's Christmas Number One.
