Appeal to thief to return stolen photos
A mother from Leicestershire is appealing to a thief to return irreplaceable photographs of her son undergoing treatment for a brain tumour.
A laptop and CD containing hundreds of images of nine-year-old Alex Barnes during his five year battle were taken.
Alex is now a happy and healthy nine year old.
But it's been a fight to get there.
In 2007 he was diagnosed with a brain tumour and had to travel to America for specialist treatment.
He made an amazing recovery and his family are distraught that photos which document this part of his life have now gone.
Proton Therapy is an advanced type of radiotherapy which kills cancer cells, without damaging healthy tissue.
Alex's journey has been instrumental in the fight to bring this treatment to the UK.
Two centres will open in 2018, and a third may be built in Birmingham.
Police have released this image of a man they'd like to speak to in connection with the theft.
