The Mayor of Leicester, Sir Peter Soulsby, is launching a campaign to tackle confusing signs around the city.

The project, called Legible Leicester, will inspect thousands of signs that direct motorists, cyclists and pedestrians across Leicester.

The mayor is to commission a report costing between £30,000 and £50,000.

Earlier this year, Derbyshire MP and Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin wrote to councils to urge them to continue getting rid of confusing road signs.
