Mother and son stabbing inquest to hear from doctor of mentally ill patient found dead with them

The inquest on a mentally ill patient found stabbed to death with his ex-partner and their son in Derbyshire will today hear evidence from a doctor heavily involved in his psychiatric care.

Andrew Cairns was found dead along with Rachael Slack and their two year old son Auden at Miss Slack's cottage in Holbrook in June 2010.

Mr Cairns had a history of mental health problems and was suffering from depression at the time of his death.

Today the inquest jury will hear from Dr Andrew Raynor, a senior clinical psychologist.
