Loughborough fitness firm bounces into world record books
The Guinness Book of Records has confirmed a Loughborough-based fitness firm has broken the world record for the most amount of people jumping up and down on a trampoline at the same time.
The stunt was organised as part of the Olympic Torch relay celebrations when the flame passed through Loughborough University last year.
The previous record was set in Australia in 2009, with 287 people taking part in the jump attempt.
But that was smashed by 15 jumpers, as 302 students and staff at Loughborough University bounced simultaneously for more than 6 minutes on July 3 2012** - watch more coverage of the attempt here.**
Becky White, from onesixeight fitness, who is a former student of the university, was the organiser of the world record attempt.
On the day she referred to herself as 'Bouncing Becky', and our Sports Correspondent Steve Clamp interviewed her as part of the Torch Relay celebrations.
