It has been revealed that adopted children in Leicestershire find secure family homes faster than the national average.

Figures published by the government show that Leicestershire County Council places children with families within 18 months - 3 months quicker than the national average.

In the last 12 months the council has placed 28 children with adoptive families.

The council has recently brought in two new social workers and a more flexible approach to approving adopters to speed up the selection process.
