Weather: Rain today, sunny tomorrow

It a soggy start to Saturday for us all as a band of rain creeps south and eastwards. Behind the rain it will turn drier and brighter for the western areas but stay cloudy and wet for much of the day in the east.

The clearing skies mean that temperatures will dip close to freezing tonight even in towns and cities. Expect a widespread ground frost and a cold start on Sunday but it will be lovely and sunny and stay dry through the day. Wrap up warm and Sunday will be your best day of the weekend.

It all goes wrong once again for the start of next week with more wet and windy weather to come. Make the most of Sunday!
