Views on the government's idea to scrap housing benefit for under 25s

People around the Midlands have been giving their views on David Cameron's indication that he will look at stopping automatic housing benefit for the the under 25s as part of George Osborne's plan to cut the welfare bill further.

Both David Cameron and George Osborne mentioned the idea at the Conservative party conference last week.

The homeless charity Crisis say it would be irresponsible and would leave tens of thousands of youngsters vulnerable.

People on the streets of Birmingham had mixed reactions.

Some said they thought it was a good idea because it was wrong that the taxes they paid went towards funding accommodation for people who weren't working.

Others said it was fine for people who could rely on their families but that there shouldn't be a blanket ban as that would be unfair on the most vulnerable members of society.
