Nottingham actress gets ready for live Emmerdale show

Emmerdale celebrates its 40th birthday with a live episode tonight which will have two weddings, two births and a mystery death.

Midlands actress Lucy Pargeter who plays Chas Dingle has one of the main story-lines tonight as viewers wait to see if the show ends with her a married woman.

Emmerdale is following in the footsteps of Coronation Street with live birthday episodes.

Emmerdale director Tony Prescott will be in charge and says what he and the cast need is good luck much of the action is set outside and not in controllable conditions.

Avid viewers will be hoping to see the joint wedding of Chas Dingle to Dan Spencer, and Katie Sugden to Declan Macey, but an air of uncertainty hangs over the joint nuptials.

The hour-long live episode will air on ITV1 at 7pm on Wednesday.

The Emmerdale website will stream a parallel view with a live mix of backstage webcams during the live show.
