1000 New jobs created in Leicestershire with M&S
Retail giant Marks and Spencer has announced it is to create 1,000 jobs in Leicestershire over the next year under plans to boost its online operations.
The new roles will be at a big distribution centre in Castle Donington, where the retailer expects to distribute 2 million clothing and home products each week.
There are currently 100 people working at the site ahead of the centre's opening early next year.
Logistics director Darrell Stein said:
M&S will be working with Remploy Employment Service, which specialises in supporting disabled people in overcoming barriers into work, to launch a new employability scheme for people with disabilities.
The Marks and Start Logistics scheme will be one of the recruitment channels used for the roles on offer.
