Hundreds of fans queue to secure iPhone 5

Hundreds of fans have been queueing since the early hours of this morning to become some of the first customers to get their hands on the long-awaited iPhone 5.

The latest smart phone, which starts at £529.00 for the basic model, became available at 8:00 this morning.

The Apple product is already guaranteed to be a best seller, with the company reporting pre-orders of around two million worldwide in just 24 hours.

In other parts of the country, fans camped out overnight to be at the very front of the queues when the stores opened this morning.
