Ultrafast broadband for Birmingham
Birmingham is set to receive £10 million from the government to bring ultrafast broadband to businesses.
The city is one of ten in the UK to receive funding to help businesses to compete with others around the world.
Culture Secretary Maria Miller said the investment would help to provide broadband speed of at least 80 to 100Mbps, essential for the Birmingham economy.
Plans include extending ultrafast broadband to an extra 230,000 residential and 55,000 business premises throughout the ten cities by 2015.
A second £50million fund was announced in the Budget to be shared between 10 smaller cities.
