New figures show how much High Speed 2 has cost so far

The total cost of the High Speed 2 rail project, so far, has been released.

The figures, which detail the total spending up until the end of August this year show that £65 million has been spent on the project.

Cheryl Gillian MP, asked for the figures to be released as her constituency, in Buckinghamshire, is on the list of countys that the line will travel through.

The new Transport Minister Simon Burns listed the total expenditure as a result of Mrs Gillian's request.
