Drive-in movie night near Birmingham to show original 'Grease' film

Lightwoods Park in Bearwood will be making the most of the fine weather this evening with a drive-in movie night, showing the original 'Grease' film.

Organised by the Friends of Lightwoods Park and House and Sandwell Council, the movie will be shown on a big screen, with the soundtrack played through movie goers' car stereos.

Hundreds are expected to attend tonight, according to organiser Richard Marshall, there will be room for 500 cars, and people as far as Shrewsbury have shown interest in the event.

Profits from the event will go towards funding further events in the park, which is just off the Hagley road.

The gates will open tonight at 5.30pm, with the movie starting at 8pm - fifties dress is optional.
