Tour of Britain passes through region

The second stage of the cycling Tour of Britain set off from Nottingham today before heading north through Ashbourne in Derbyshire and Leek in the Staffordshire Moorlands, and ending just outside Liverpool.

Tour de France star and Olympic Champion Bradley Wiggins and World Champion Mark Cavendish took part in the race.

The race will return to our region on 13th September when it passes through Stoke. More details of the Tour's route on ITV Central's website.
