Gold medal for double transplant patient

A West Midlands Ambulance serviceman has won a gold medal at this year’s BritishTransplant Games.

Michael Horton who was an Olympic Games Ambassador, scooped the gold medal for Archery during this years games which were held in Medway Kent.

The 62-year-old who works within Patient Transport Services at the Trust has undergone two kidney transplants.

He also competed in Lawn Bowling, Darts and Ten Pin Bowling.

600 people took part in the event which has been running since 1978, with competitors aging from under 5 to over 70.
