The German-born Kindred is one half of Paralympics GB's 'golden couple' along with his wife Nyra. He suffered heartbreak on Tuesday when, despite shaving time off his world record, the 34 year-old was beaten to silver by Xu Qing, 19, from China. The defeat was even harder for him to take considering his domination in the event, three Paralympic golds in the last three Games (6 golds in all). Kindred is one of the team's most experienced competitors, having made his debut in Atlanta in 1996 with a silver.
