The world premiere of a new musical about the life of the man who created Peter Pan will open at Leicester's Curve Theatre later this month.

"Finding Neverland" is the story of JM Barrie's friendship with Sylvia Llewellyn Davies, and her four boys, Jack, George, Michael and Peter.

Through their games, adventures and storytelling came the inspiration for Peter Pan and the Lost Boys.

This production is the brainchild of Academy Award-winning Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. He's worked on films such as Shakespeare in Love, The Artist and Chicago, and "Finding Neverland " is very much his project.

In 2004 he was the executive producer of the film version, starring Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet.

He chose the Curve theatre because of its "outstanding technical facilities" which have allowed them to build cars and pirate ships which will fly across the stage.

The production opens in Leicester on 22nd September until the 18th of October before moving on to the West End.
