Sam made his debut at the last Paralympics, making a splash as he secured a gold and bronze at the age of 17. But his brother, Oliver, got one over him on his debut at the European Championships last year by beating him to gold in the 200m Individual Medley (S8). The brothers admit it is 'different' competing against each other but say they treat each other like normal competitors. The 400m is Sam's strongest event and he will be expected to reassert his dominance in this event today. Both of them have neuromuscular myopathy (muscular dystrophy).
