Police in Nottinghamshire searching for a man who tried to rob a betting shop in Mansfield have released this CCTV video.

Officers are hoping that someone will recognise the man in the images. The attempted robbery happened on 9 November last year. A masked man walked into the William HIll betting shop in the Ladybrook Place shopping precinct.

The man threatened the manageress with a gun before demanding she fill it with cash. A colleague raised the alarm and the man left empty handed. No customers were in the shop at the time.

Police recovered the firearm that it's believed was used in the attempted robbery. It's an imitation shotgun that was discovered under a pile of tyres a mile from the scene.

The suspect is described as medium build with fair skin, between 5ft 7ins and 5ft 9ins. He had a local accent and walked with a distinctive gait. Nottinghamshire Police want to hear from anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV footage or the weapon used.
