Lenny Henry has come a long way since his role on Central Television's children's show Tiswas.

The comedian, actor and television presenter, who was born in Dudley, has just finished working on a Disney animation Phineas and Ferb.

He follows in the footsteps of Hollywood and British stars including Micheal J Fox and David Beckham who have featured in the cartoon.

Lenny plays the role of Iggy - a knowledgeable and grub-eating safari park guide in a special two part episode, called Where's Perry?.

The British star has been in showbusiness for more than 30 years. This role follows on from a successful appearance on stage in Shakespeare Othello. He played the lead in 2009. Last year he performed at the Leicester comedy festival.

And on top of his work in television and stage, Lenny is studying a PHD in Literature. Lenny says his Mum always advised him to have an education to fall back on.

Lenny will feature in a special two part episode of Phineas and Ferb, which is due to be aired on Disney XD on 6th September.
