One year anniversary since the death of Red Arrows pilot Jon Egging

Today marks the one year anniversary since Red Arrows pilot Jon Egging died during an air display at the Bournemouth Air Festival.

His Hawk T1 aircraft crashed on 20th August 2011, and only three months later his death was followed by another tragedy, when his colleague Sean Cunningham also died, after being ejected from his plane on the runway.

Now a book about the aviation team has been published, in memory of the two Midlands pilots.

The book, Red Arrows in Camera, authored by aviation photographer Keith Wilson, contains more than 300 images of the Arrows.

It will be sold in memory of Flight Lieutenants Jon Egging from Rutland and Sean Cunningham from Coventry, with some of the proceeds going to the RAF Benevolent Fund.

Author Keith Wilson spent nine months working with the team, capturing the pilots, ground crew and support staff, as well as the precision flying done by the pilots in their displays.

The Red Arrows, which are based at RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire, were formed in 1965, and since then have flown more than 4,000 displays in 53 different countries.
