World record winning Shrewsbury Flower Show
Shrewsbury's Flower Show opens for the 125th time today.
Gardeners, cooks and artists of all abilities will be competing to take home a prize for their skills in flower arranging, vegetable growing, crafts and cookery.
The entries will be judged by members of the Shropshire Horticultural Society, which organises the event. The chef James Martin will be giving cookery demonstrations and the Royal Corps of Signals and The Honourable Artillery Company will provide live music.
Shrewsbury Flower Show often featured on postcards at the start of the 20th century. They were actually photographs which were hand coloured in before being printed.
