Birmingham's Robbie Grabarz is aiming for gold in the high jump final tonight.

Robbie, who trains at the Alexander Stadium but is from Enfield in North London, managed flawless jumps in the qualifying round in the Olympic Stadium on Sunday night.

He managed first time clearances of 2.21m, 2.26m and 2.29m competing in his first Olympic Games.

Speaking on Sunday night, the 24-year-old said the crowd gave him an extra lift.

Robbie Grabarz has shot to the top of British athletics with some commanding displays in 2012.

Once a Lottery funding reject, Grabarz was the first person to win gold at the European Championships in 62 years and recorded the highest jump of the year in the Diamond League in Rome.

The Men's High Jump final will start at 7 o'clock tonight.
