Dairy farmer forced to sell cows for slaughter to cover costs
A dairy farmer from Herefordshire says he his having to sell cows for slaughter to cover costs and stay in business.
Anthony Gibbs' farm at Edvin Loach near Bromyard has been run by his family since the 1940s, but he now fears for the farm's future.
The farm makes around £15,000 each month from the milk it sells, but the costs of running the farm are £15-20,000 meaning all options are being looked at for saving money.
Anthony joined dozens of other farmers blockading the Robert Wiseman milk processing plant in Droitwich Spa in Worcestershire last night, two days after a previous protest was held on Friday.
