Nottingham's Capital FM Arena in the city has seen a boost in over £10 million in the last four years. The Arena's Chief Executive says getting international megastars such as Beyonce, Bob Dylan and Nicki Minaj to perform at the venue has a significant impact on the city's economy.

In research carried out by Nottingham University's Business School in 2008, the economic value of guests coming in to the city for shows, staying at hotels, using car parks, going out to bars and clubs afterwards and also the number of people employed in various roles for shows, was estimated to bringing in around £40 million to the local economy. The arena's chief executive says that is now much nearer the £50 million mark.

Following in their footsteps is multi-platinum selling superstar Nicki Minaj, who announced her UK Arena tour 'Pink Friday Reloaded' would be making a stop in Nottingham later this year.

The arena says another significant benefit of attracting superstars like Nicki Minaj to play their show in Nottingham is employment, in terms of the number of people sub-contracted in various roles.
