E.ON has today demolished five cooling towers at High Marnham, north Nottinghamshire, changing the skyline in the area forever.

The video shows how the five towers took only 12 seconds to go from detonation to ground level.

Neil Riley, Head of Generation Development for E.ON UK said: "it is essential that we remove the remaining towers as they are in danger of becoming unsafe and they cannot be used again as part of any new development."

Following the demolition of the towers, extensive clear-up work will continue on the site for many months.
