Heavy and thundery showers, with more rain on the way
The heavens opened across the Midlands this morning with some very heavy, thundery downpours.
Coleshill in the West Midlands recorded 19.8mm of rain in just a few hours.
The showers will spread north and eastwards through the day.
Behind the showers it will be drier and brighter, great news for the Olympic Torch Relay in Nottinghamshire.
We cannot rule out the occasional shower but the heavier downpours will move further north this afternoon.
It is feeling very hot and humid once again, expect highs of 26c in the East Midlands and 24c in the west.
The temperatures will fall away tonight and it certainly won't be as muggy as last night with lows of 13c, it will be mostly dry overnight until showery rain starts to creep in from the west in the early hours which sets us up for tomorrow.
We will wake up to cloudy skies and outbreaks of rain, it will also be windy tomorrow and feel cooler than today.
The humid air will move away northwards and we'll be left with a fresher feel and highs of 20c.
