Oliver Hooper from Calow near Chesterfield has spent over 2500 hours volunteering on sport projects. He is studying sport at Loughborough University, the official preparation camp headquarters for Team GB ahead of the 2012 games.

He has been an ambassador for the Youth Sport Trust, which aims to inspire young people to lead healthier lives. He has been involved in a variety of roles within England Netball to help promote the sport, and was selected in 2009 to attend the International Olympic Committee Congress in Greece.

His nomination to carry the Olympic torch describes him as a truly inspirational young person, dedicated to transforming people's lives through sport.

He will carry the Olympic flame through Chesterfield on June 29th.
