Midlands athletes qualify for the Olympics following Aviva trials in Birmingham

Many midlands athletes qualified for the Olympics following the Aviva trials in Birmingham this weekend.

Among them Steve Lewis from Stoke-On-Trent, he Pole Vaulted 5 metres 50 to win and ensure he'd be in London.

Robbie Grabarz who lives in Birmingham topped the high jumpers, with 2 metres 28.

In the 110 metres hurdles Andrew Pozzi, from Stratford won with a time just over 13 seconds, but disappointment for Nottingham's Andy Turner who was pushed back into 3rd.

One of the best moments of the weekend came in the long jump, when Birmingham's, Shara Procter set a British record with 6 metres 95.
