After 28 years Birmingham pensioner Cyril Barbier has finally finished a scaled-down version of the Odeon New Street cinema.

Having finished it, however, the 82 year old from Sutton Coldfield is not sure what will become of it.

The lights in the auditorium, restaurant, toilets and detachable foyer and staircase sections all work.

There’s a working festoon curtain in front of the screen, and an organ that can be powered to rise up and go back down again.

There is even a hidden DVD player which can play movies on a 15-inch flat screen that’s in perfect proportion to the original 1930s cinema screen.
