Funeral of Philpott children takes place
Mourners have turned out to remember six children who died in a house fire in Derby. The bodies of the children arrived for the service on six horse-drawn carriages.
A horse with pink feathers carrying the coffin of 10-year-old Jade led the cortege.
It was followed by five more hearses each with blue feathers carrying the bodies of John, aged 9, Jack, aged 8 Jessie, 6, Jayden, 5 and Duwayne, 13.
Each coffin bore the name of each child. Family members and friends threw flowers as they arrived at St Mary's Catholic Church. It was packed with hundreds of mourners.
Five of the children died in a house fire at their home in Victory Road, Allenton, on May 11.
Duwayne died two days later at Birmingham's Children's Hospital.
Their parents, Mick and Mairead Philpott were not at the service.
They have been charged with murdering the children.
Two police officers stood outside the door during the service.
Earlier Derbyshire police had urged members of the public to show restraint and respect.
