School apologies for suicide note

A Staffordshire school has apologised after a pupil wrote what his mother interpreted as a suicide note.

The Discovery Academy in Stoke on Trent has confirmed that the exercise was part of a creative writing lesson asking pupils to draw on their own feelings and experiences.

The mother of one 14 year old pupil complained after she found and read what she thought was her son's suicide note.

The Discovery Academy released a statement which said :

The Academy is to review the subject matter of the creative writing lesson.
