A paralysed woman who won national national admiration after completing this year's London marathon, wearing a robotic suit, is preparing to take part in a charity bike ride from London to Paris.

Claire Lomas from Eye Kettleby in Leicestershire suffered spinal injuries in a riding accident. Despite being paralysed from the waist down she will cover the 250 mile journey in a specially constructed trike.

It took Claire sixteen days to complete the London marathon, she raised more than £200,000 for Spinal research. She hopes to use this challenge to raise more money for the charity.

She has already started her training for the challenge using an indoor bike that she uses as part of her rehabilitation. She hopes to begin her outdoor training later this month.
