The eight month wait for a buyer of Nottingham Forest looks to be nearing an end.

At the announcement of the club's new sponsor today it was confirmed that a deal could be struck within the next ten days.

Exactly who the bidders are isn't clear, but there is believed to be more than one interested party.

Adam Pye, MD and Principal Auctioneer of Forest's new sponsor John Pye & Sons, said:

Nottingham Forest were first put up for sale in October 2011 but the sudden death of outgoing chairman Nigel Doughty in February this year is believed to have complicated the sale.

With Forest's rivals already busy planning for the season ahead it is vital the club gets a new owner in place sooner rather than later.
