Climber from Lincolnshire conquers Everest
A man from from Sleaford in Lincolnshire has become one of the youngest people to reach the summit of Mount Everest.
Matthew Dieumegard-Thornton is now back home in the UK after achieving the feat in the early hours of Saturday 19 May.
During the climb, Matthew, who is 22 years old, had to overcome laryngitis and temporarily ran out of oxygen just short of the summit. He wanted to take on the challenge to raise money for the international charity Global Angels which provides safe drinking water for disadvantaged children.
Matthew spoke to us before setting off on his expedition back in March.
