Warwickshire show-jumping star prepares for the Olympics

He is an international show jumping star, with 40 years riding experience and he is one of our region's Olympic hopefuls.

Nick Skelton has been preparing one of his winning horses at his stables in Warwickshire.

The show-jumper who has a huge set of awards from all over the world is yet to achieve Olympic successs despite trying six times.

He hopes big star might be the horse for him after recently winning him the grand prix in Hamburg.

The veteran started riding when he was just three years old.

But his love for riding turned into a nightmare when an accident in the year 2000 left him with a broken neck. It not only almost ended his career but his life.

Doctors told him another fall could be fatal but he recovered better than expected and started competing again in 2000.

Nick Skelton says a win at this year's games will be the highlight of his career.**
