Diamond Jubilee celebrations are spreading across the Midlands but one company in the region has even more to celebrate this summer thanks to the royal occasion.

Running Imp is a Lincoln retailer of medals and awards, but for the Jubilee 2012 they decided to create a range of souvenirs and party products, with sales already past the £1 million mark.

Established in 1988 the company is experiencing a record breaking year and has hired an extra 30 employees to meet the increasing demand for products such as medals, mugs and mementoes.

To show their commitment to flying the flag for the Diamond Jubilee, the company named their new premises 'Jubilee House', had its vehicles wrapped in the Union Jack and decorated their building in giant patriotic flags.

This news comes as the Derbyshire and Nottingham Chamber of Commerce announced that the East Midlands retail sector is expecting a surge of more than £50 million ahead of the forthcoming Diamond Jubilee.

Running Imp's Managing Director Chris Illsley recently sent some of the commemorative medlas and coins they had produced and was delighted when he received a response from Her Majesty's Lady-in-Waiting expressing The Queen's gratitude.

Jubilee fever shows no signs of slowing as the company currently receives 200 orders each day for Diamond Jubilee related goods and is making plans to operate 24 hours per day to meet demands.
