Olympic Torch Relay reaches the Midlands
Six days ago the Olympic Torch arrived in the UK and today it comes to the Midlands.
After celebrations in Cheltenham last night, the relay begins in Ledbury this morning and will make it's way through Hereford, Leominster and Ludlow.
Travelling from Bewdley to Kidderminster, the torch will take the Severn Valley Railway.
Finally ending the first day of the Midlands leg with celebrations in Worcester at the Worcester County Cricket Ground.
The evening will feature a two hour show with music from Labrinth, and a performance from sport and dance act Twist and Pulse.
The Olympic Torch Relay lasts for 7 days in total and will visit over a thousand communities.
The torch will cover 99 miles today alone, with over 100 people carrying the flame.
This Friday, the torch will continue through to Malvern and then onto Ross on Wye and into South Wales.
Next Wednesday, the relay returns to the Midlands, in Shropshire and Staffordshire, with evening celebrations in Stoke-On-Trent.
We then wait until almost a month later, when the torch returns on 27th June to visit the East of the region in Lincolnshire.
And the following day it will begin it's longest tour of the patch, over six days, with celebrations in Nottingham, Derby, Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester, ending in Peterborough on July 3rd.
