JCB have won a contract worth thirty six million pounds to supply a thousand new machines.

The Staffordshire based firm say they have employed an extra 150 staff over the last 12 months following the growing popularity of their mini-excavator machines.

The new contract is the largest volume order they have received this year.

The official announcement will be made today during an event for the UK tool hire sector at JCB's World HQ in Rocester.

The event will be attended by hundreds of existing and prospective customers, with Lord Digby Jones as the guest of honour.
