Work has commenced on the removal of the former Massey Ferguson tower block ahead of its demolition in July.

Once one of the world's largest tractor manufacturing sites, the tower was added during the 1960's. However, the site closed in 2003, along with the tower and 1000 jobs.

The demolition of the 16-storey tower in Tile Hill, Coventry is part of a regeneration of the area, which has already seen the construction of over 800 houses by developer Persimmon Homes.

Early preparations involve the stripping of internal fixtures and fittings to ensure a safe and controlled collapse of the building.
