Minister to perform U2 at church service
A Leicestershire church minister is tonight swapping the word of the Bible for the word of Bono.
Reverend Nick Cook and three friends from Market Harborough Baptist Church are performing a selection of songs by rock band U2.
It's part of a special communion service combining the town's churches called "U2charist".
The aim is to widen the Church's appeal to a younger audience.
Rev Cook says the band's Christian background and the spiritual content of their music make them an ideal choice for a church service.
He added that U2 have given churches blanket consent to sing their songs if the money raised goes to help Christian Aid's work in tackling world poverty.
Tonight's service is at St Hugh's Church in the town at 8pm.
