Bhangra star Malkit Singh joins Birmingham's Walk of Stars
Punjabi singing sensation Malkit Singh is going to be the latest addition to Birmingham's Walk of Stars.
He is being awarded the honour in recognition for his global contribution to Bhangra music. Australia, Canada and India are a just a few of the countries he has toured.
Known as the King of Bhangra, Mr Singh has lived in the Midlands since 1984.
He worked in a denim factory before launching his music career.
He started by performing as part of a band called Golden Star who were well known for their shiny suits.
The walk of stars isn't the only honour Mr Singh has been given, in 2008 he was awarded an MBE by the Queen.
Malkit Singh will become the first Asian to be represented on the Birmingham Broad Street walk of stars.
His name will join other big names including actress Julie Walters, rock legend Ozzy Osbourne and singer Beverley Knight.
He will receive his award in Birmingham this evening.
