Claire Lomas completes 'robotic suit' marathon

A woman who's competing in this year's London marathon despite being paralysed from the chest down, completed the race today - 17 days after starting.

Five years ago Claire who's from Eye Kettleby in Leicestershire suffered severe spinal injuries after a horse riding accident. Claire has been using a pair of robotic suit to walk the 26.2 mile course.

The suit, which is powered by an eight hour battery supports her legs and hips, moving each leg forward in response to subtle changes in her balance.

Along the route she's been supported by her husband Dan, her parents, and one year old daughter Maisie.

Several high-profile celebrities, sports stars & TV personalities have also spent time walking with her.
