Plaque stolen from Birmingham Assay Office

The Birmingham Assay Office plaque has been stolen from the front entrance of the building.

The Assay Office say they are "devastated".

The sterling silver plaque was hallmarked in 1977 and has 18 carat gold lettering.

Birmingham Assay Office is the largest Assay Office in the UK and hallmarks millions of articles of gold, silver and platinum every year.
